FROZEN PHOTOS WORKSHOP

I’m running a workshop at Photo Access Canberra on 7 November in conjunction with my exhibition State of change. I’ll introduce my climate change inspired artwork on show in the Huw Davies Gallery, and then guide participants through making photograms with ice.

EXHIBITION OPENING

The opening of my new exhibition State of Change at Photo Access Huw Davies Gallery in Canberra is 15 October 6-8 pm.

The new series explores the relationship between ice and light, transformation literally, figuratively and abstractly. I wanted to draw links between light and perception, water and change, referring both to the melting ice caps and photographic processes.

The works were created as part of my 2020 Dark Matter Residency at PhotoAccess.

2020 DARK MATTER RESIDENCY PHOTOACCESS

I’m excited to be announced as the 2020 Dark Matter resident at Photoaccess Gallery in Canberra.

I’ll be making a new series in their darkroom - looking at how the polar ice caps are melting - which will be on display in a solo show later in October.

MOSMAN HIGH ART TALK AND WORKSHOP

It was great to give a talk about my art practice again at Mosman High School with Year 8 kids. We discussed waste and art.

We also did a workshop with cyanotypes looking at our imprint on nature.

New show at gaffa, Sydney

Excited to be showing some new work with my friend Zac Fenn at gaffa gallery in Sydney from 28 February - 11 March.

'In passing’ explores movement, kinetic energy and ultimately the brevity of life. Fenn draws upon the ‘vehicular attraction’ of utilitarian vehicles with his drawings, whilst my B&W images capture vehicular decay.

My new photographic series focuses on car engines in a western Sydney car graveyard, picked apart for bits that can be reused. Close ups highlight their fascinating abstract patterns, texture, shape and size.
