Our oil is running out. Electric cars are the future. What will happen to service stations? Will they disappear as a marker of our urban environment? Service stations all over Sydney are constantly being closed down. They lay abandoned for several years to decontaminate the soil. During this time they are fenced with cyclone wire, broken windows, graffiti and scattered rubbish accumulates. The series explores the typology of these non-places, once an important part of our daily life but are now overlooked, ignored, just an ugly part of the streetscape.
